Recognizing the importance of keeping children with autism safe - along with their own experience with Dougie Jr.'s attempted escapes - the Flutie Family decided to start the Flutie Family Fence Project to help fence in the yards of families of individuals with autism who could not otherwise afford to do so.

Through the generosity of Northeastern Fence and Supply Corporation in Saugus, MA the Flutie Foundation was able to install a fence for a family in need from Lynn, MA in 2009. Read the full article

Currently the Fence Program is limited to the Northeastern part of Massachusetts. The Flutie Foundation is hoping to partner with other fence companies in order to expand the program.
